OVERVIEW

From a young age, Alan’s mother identified him as "tough and ornery", declaring he was destined for the legal profession. These characteristics were later refined while working for his dad’s law practice in southern California. Later in life, Alan explored careers in teaching and in business, as the owner of a famous, local watering hole. In 1985 Alan could no longer deny his love of the law and enrolled in Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College and began his legal career.

As a veteran litigator, Alan has successfully represented client’s interests in cases involving major felonies, murder, drugs, domestic violence, and DUII cases. In addition he has experience in a wide array of juvenile, family and personal injury matters.

Alan's basic theory is that most clients dislike being involved in legal matters and hope the lawyer can find a way to quickly, efficiently and fairly resolve matters at a reasonable cost. He prides himself in finding ways to creatively resolve even the most difficult of cases with thorough preparation, investigation and research. When a case requires, Alan has the experience, skill and tenacity to take the client's case to the judge or jury.

OVERVIEW

Growing up Shannon was the person that his friends would come to for advice when faced with a problem. His friends would seek him out for his open mindedness and willingness to listen as he would help them seek out a solution. This desire to be a problem solver led Shannon on the path becoming an attorney. By the time he enrolled in law school in 2001 he brought a considerable amount of life experience with him. After graduating Grant High School, Shannon worked a wide variety of jobs through college, including bagel baker, delivery driver and bartender in order to earn a living. This wide-ranging work experience affirmed Shannon’s commitment to giving ordinary working folks a voice in the legal system.

After graduating law school, Shannon cut his teeth as a trial attorney with one of the local public defender offices earning a reputation as both a staunch advocate for his clients as well as a pragmatic and sensible negotiator.  He has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of felony and misdemeanor cases including a significant amount of experience in defending DUII cases. Shannon is eager to bring his experience to Alan W. Karpinski, P.C. and be of assistance to an even broader range of clients.
